Membership in the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas offers individuals and organizations the opportunity to support and strengthen law enforcement across the state. Sheriffs (Elected Officials) include those individuals who hold the office of Sheriff in a Texas county.
Sheriffs who have already registered for the 148th annual conference had their 2026 membership dues included with registration and should not have to pay again.
Law Enforcement Professionals include any individual who is actively engaged in or honorably retired from a law enforcement, corrections, licensed security, or prosecutor/judicial role at the federal, state, or local level, including reserve officers and all persons employed by a sheriff’s office.
Associate Membership is open to any individual or family dedicated to supporting law enforcement, promoting public safety, and building safer communities
Business Membership is open to any business or corporation dedicated to supporting law enforcement, promoting public safety, and building safer communities.
As a member, you gain access to tools, training, and connections that support your work and strengthen public safety across Texas. From professional development opportunities to statewide advocacy, membership provides meaningful ways to stay informed, engaged, and equipped.
The Sheriffs’ Association of Texas is updating its Active Membership cycle in 2026. Active Membership is available to all federal, state, and local law enforcement officers, reserve officers, corrections officers, honorably retired officers, security officers, and all sheriff’s office employees.
Beginning in 2026, Active Membership terms will extend from July 1 through June 30 of each year. This timeline aligns with our annual conference and officer promotions and should eliminate confusion about renewal periods.
Active members who joined or renewed in 2025 remain current until July 1, 2026. Those who register (in advance) for the 148th annual conference will also renew their 2026 membership at that time.
Current lifetime members are not impacted, and there is no increase for Associate and Business Members; they continue to renew membership on a calendar year basis.
Individual Associate Benefits – $25 per year
Family Associate Membership – $40 Per Year
Lifetime Associate Membership – $500 One Time Fee

Our Business Membership Program is for members of the business/professional community who support local law enforcement. There are three levels of Business Membership: Gold ($500), Silver ($250), and Bronze ($100). Each Business Member receives a distinctive wall plaque to be displayed in their place of business in addition to the other Associate Member benefits.
